Contest
Barbecue is growing in the North-East. The proof is in the numbers. More teams are competing, and festival attendance grows every year. Last year 60 teams fired up their cookers, and the crowd grew to over 14,000. The RibFest goal this year is for 50 teams to pit their barbeque skills against some sharp competition for bragging rights and a portion of the prize money. Limiting to fifty teams will mean a better contest atmosphere so we can take care of contestants. Our event is a NY Sate Championship. Empire State Barbecue Championship
Thanks to the unprecedented cooperation between competitions in New York State the Hudson Valley RibFest is proud to be a member of the Empire State Barbecue Championship. Check out the details here.
Saturday 8/18
Saturday is the New England Barbecue Society Grilling Contest. Teams will compete in four different categories.
- Pizza (pending NEBS approval)
- Chicken Wings (pending NEBS approval)
- Apple Dessert (pending NEBS approval)
- Salmon (pending NEBS approval)

Sunday 8/19
Sunday is the Kansas City Barbeque Society Contest. Teams will compete in four different categories.
- Chicken
- Pork Ribs
- Pork Butt / Shoulder
- Beef Brisket
